While we need to boost world food production by 70% to meet the planet’s growing population, an increasingly volatile climate is wreaking havoc on agricultural output and Australia, a major food exporting country, has been limited to 1% p.a. productivity growth for the past 40 years.
In response, I am imagining and developing a range of smart products that use nano-satellite technology, which has never been used before, to deliver precision broad-acre farming.
The integration of device direct to nano-satellite network means perfect connectivity for all farmers where previous cellular-driven devices could only be used in 30% of Australia’s landmass. Thus, opening up a vast array of data insights and concepts behind Industry 4.0 for the world’s farmers to massively boost productivity.
