We need more water, especially in SA. Thousands of GL of fresh water pour out of Tasmanian river mouths annually.

This water could be pumped to the mainland where it is needed, by means of a large diameter, thin walled flexible pipeline containing a series of non-return valves, suspended well below the surface to avoid ships, so that each passing wave crest increases local pressure in the pipe, squeezing water through the next valve towards the mainland, and each trough reduces pressure in the pipe, sucking water through the last valve on the Tas side.
